Children and families in Maryland can count on Childhelp to fight against abuse in the Maryland area.
The Greater Washington Area Chapter of Childhelp makes great strides in the fight against child abuse and neglect, and reaps great rewards through its community events and fundraising efforts. The dedicated involvement of chapter volunteers and sponsors, and the unwavering commitment of the community have positively impacted the lives of more than 12,000 children.
Through service projects and community support, the Greater Washington Area Chapter provides mentorship, tutoring and buddy time for the children at the Village. Through the Angel Tag Program, holiday gifts are collected and distributed, with more than 700 collected to date. Fundraising efforts have resulted in hundreds of donated books, art therapy supplies and even dental care to the children. Other efforts have resulted in raising more than $100,000 which has funded 20,000 calls to the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline.
Chapter Members and volunteers alike are committed to raising awareness, providing prevention education to the community, and enriching the lives of victims at the Childhelp Alice C. Tyler Village.
