  • A 10-year-old chatted the hotline, stating she was scared her dad was going to kill her mom. “He was beating her for an hour and now I don’t know where they are! I’m hiding under a desk in my room.”
  • A 13-year-old texted the hotline because she was afraid for her younger brothers — her stepfather was abusing them. “My mom won’t do anything because she says we’ll be homeless and they’ll take the boys away.” 
  • A young mother to a one-year-old, called the hotline in distress because her daughter wouldn’t nap. “I’ve had such a stressful day! And when she naps, I can relax. I don’t know what to do!”
  • A 15-year-old called the hotline because her mom choked and threatened to kill her. “I didn’t know it could get this bad!” 
  • An aunt called the hotline to discuss her nine-year-old niece’s troubling disclosure of being handcuffed to her bed and touched inappropriately.
