In the heart of college campuses across the nation, sororities often embody the spirit of sisterhood, philanthropy and community service. Among these organizations, Kappa Delta stands out for its dedication to helping abused children. Through various fundraising efforts and volunteer work, the Alpha Epsilon chapter at University of Tennessee has supported Childhelp’s mission since 2019.

The sisters are deeply involved in hands-on work and regularly volunteer at Childhelp’s Children’s Advocacy Center in Knoxville, giving their time and energy to help children and families in crisis. They happily play with the children, engage in activities such as creating care packages, assisting with administrative tasks, helping with events and holidays, planting flowers, painting the famous University of Tennessee Rock and modeling in the annual Childhelp fashion show.

Recently, Childhelp hosted the annual, “Helping Kids Fight Abuse Community Luncheon,” and Alpha Epsilon members were in attendance to present a check for the amount they raised over the past year. The check — more than $86K — double what the chapter raised last year.

Kappa Delta’s commitment to eradicating child abuse is a powerful example of how collegiate organizations can contribute to social causes. Their work not only supports vital services for at-risk children and families, but also fosters a spirit of service and empathy among young women. By raising funds, volunteering and educating the community, Kappa Delta continues to inspire action and drive change in the child abuse epidemic.
