The
Orange Country Chapter of Childhelp presents the 27th Annual Golf
Classic at the Newport Beach Country Club on Monday, April 27th, 2009.
This
event benefits Childhelp, one of the largest and oldest national
organizations dedicated to the treatment, prevention and research of
child abuse and neglect, founded in 1959 by Sara O'Meara and Yvonne
Fedderson.
Childhelp
in 2009, Childhelp commemorates 50 years
of service to children in need and will be hosting activities across
the nation honoring this Childhelp milestone. Our work to prevent and
educate children about child abuse and neglect, combined with the
healing programs to help those children who have already endured
sexual, physical or emotional abuse, has benefited over 5 million
children to date. While this is a substantial number of children who
have been helped or healed from abuse, there are so many more children
who need Childhelp's services.
Programs
Childhelp
provides a broad continuum of child abuse prevention and treatment
programs that directly serve children and their families. This includes
facilities that care for some of the nation's most severely damaged
children. Several of our programs were "first," which continue to be
studied by professionals worldwide as models that work.
We are proud of the fact that 91.5 cents
of every dollar contributed to Childhelp will go to the children. If
